Psi Blaster 1.0 is the alpha Nanovor in Wave 2 of the Psi tree.

OVERVIEW

• So when I was little, my dad gave me a scientist kit for Christmas. I loved that thing SO MUCH. It came with all these awesome little beakers and this cool bubbly liquid and even a little microscope. I played with it so much though that I started to not come down for dinner or do my homework, so my dad took it away for a weekend. He said I was becoming a “mad scientist” and that he won’t have Frankenstein awakening in his home. He was probably right, but still, playing with Psi Blaster 1.0 makes me remember how awesome tinkering around with science was. Psi Blaster IS a mad scientist. It’s constantly plotting and scheming. You can totally see its arms rubbing together every time it makes an attack, as if it’s pleased that the attack went exactly as planned. I’m just glad it’s using its scientific genius to battle… who knows what havoc a Frankenvor would wreak.

TACTICS

• Try to get Psi Blaster 1.0 in when you can – the earlier the better. Swap it in as soon as you have 3 EN so that you can Think Fast! and increase your swarm’s speed by a whopping 40 points. It’s also a great Nanovor to use for combo attacks—play down a Red Spike in the first round or use its Psi Zap to do some quick damage before you swap in a tougher Nanovor. Psi Blaster has really good health so you can easily do all three attacks constantly throughout the game.

COUNTER TACTICS

• Steal its Speed! Start off with your Turbo Master 1.0 and attack with Speed Trade to knock Psi-Blaster off its quick little feet. Swap in your Gamma Stalker 1.0 for a Hit and Run for some damage, then swap in your Plasma Locust 2.0 to Headbutt for some cheaper damage. Now you’ll have enough energy to Megablast with your Mega Scorpion 2.0, and Psi-Blaster won’t even be able to get an attack in!
• Hit Heavy! Have your Triton Manta 1.0 play down a Blue Spike in the first round, allowing your Giga Wing 1.0 to attack in the next round with an extremely powerful Gob Smack attack! Once this chunk of health is smacked away, swap in your Cyber Slicer 1.0 to finish Psi-blaster off with a quick Crunch.Scorpion 2.0 and use the spike to fire off the spiked version of Mega Scorpion’s Megablast! Megablast will not only block Electropod 1.0 but will also do heavy damage that'll leave him quivering in fear! Finishing him off shouldn't be too hard now that you've got him cornered-- you can bring in a Gamma Stalker 2.0 and Jump Jab should squish him in just a couple of rounds.
• Don’t let it get Away! Start the battle with your handy-dandy Storm Spinner 1.0 and attack with Crystal Trap. Then, swap in your Gamma Stalker 2.0 and attack with Phase Fang for some serious damage! Keep hitting Psi-blaster with cheap attacks like Blaze Dragon 1.0’s Dragonfire. If you feel like Psi-blaster needs more time in the arena, you can always hit it with Plasma Lash 2.0’s Zeus Zap for another trap.

Discovery

• The other night was family game night in our house, and we generally play some Wii because it’s totally awesome. So I was whipping around my Wii-mote when I noticed that the tiny blue light kept flickering on and off. I decided that this totally deserved further scrutiny. I forced my brother to pause the game so that I could hook my Nanoscope up to it, which was totally worth it because I discovered Psi Blaster 1.0 trying to tinker with my technology! It seemed like it was trying to study it. It’s like a tiny scientist! I can’t wait until Doc Zap finds out that he’s got some competition…

ORIGINS

• I can’t help but feel a sort of connection to this particular Nanovor. I’m observing objectively of course, but I’m fascinated that there’s a scientist in the world of Nanovor. I suppose my shock isn’t warranted. After all, the technological advances that these creatures instituted in their time were stunning. Evidently I’m now aware what was behind these sorts of inventions and discoveries: Psi Blaster 1.0.
